The Institute of Logistics and Warehousing (Instytut Logistyki i Magazynowania, the ILiM) is widely acknowledged as the centre of Poland's competence in logistics. It is an interdisciplinary, state-owned R&D unit where logistics is perceived as both a subject of research and development as well as the field of their practical application. Consequently, R&D activities carried out in the Institute embrace the economy, organisation and technology.
The Institute is supervised by the Polish Ministry of Economy and currently employs 90 people.
In its thirty-five-year history, the Institute's operations have undergone constant modification, adjusting to the changing economic conditions in the country and rapidly developing technologies particularly in the field of IT.
