Description of work
Task 2.1: Collection of market developments
The information collection on market developments and state-of-the-art will be performed through desk research, interviews, seminars, and through visits to the industry in the Member States and the US. New developments and business models will be identified and collected throughout the lifetime of the project.
Task 2.2: Collection of national and international RTD
The information collection will be performed through desk research, interviews, seminars, and through visits to the industry and research organisations and ministries in the Member States and the US. The close involvement of the Steering Committee will allow a discussion of the findings and an elaboration on future actions to be taken nationally and on a European level. Available research results will be identified and collected throughout the lifetime of the project. Furthermore, the website will give the possibility to all parties to submit information electronically on national research actions and findings and to discuss future research scenarios.
Task 2.3: Analysis of RTD results and good practices
The data collection will result in a selection of RTD activities both at European and Member State level to be discussed in the Steering Committee. Good practice examples will be presented and relations will be established between national and European research programmes. Using the e-Thematic information as a basis, an assessment of good practice are completed with the aim of identifying gaps in current research and proposing topics for future research.
Brunel University will lead this workpackage.
Milestones and expected result
M2: e-fulfilment/RTD inventory
The result of WP3 will be a broad dissemination of national and European research, combined with the actual state-of-the-art in the industry sector. Synergy will be created between the national and the European research effort through improved knowledge of findings and strategies. Moreover, RTD-efforts will be aligned to the users’ requirements.
Interrelation with other workpackages
The work of WP3 will be used in the clustering activities and in the preparation of policy recommendations established in WP5.
